I have run out of adjectives, just as my first boss in my first college related job.  He said that we used "serious," "utterly devastating," "beyond description." and more, all too often and at the wrong times.  I had a feeling he was correct.  His name was Joe, it has been 30 years since I have seen him, but I know what he was saying.

As I have followed the events in Haiti and the reporters and the other countries trying to figure out a way to help this incredible prisoners of a history which had no right to happen, and then over 90 years of US influence in putting in a dictator, then they get some form of democracy, but, it brought them nothing.  What is lost by a person who has nothing, including no hope?  What else can nature do?  Take a loved one?  Sure.  But, everyone has been through that.

The many of the almost  lost souls watch as airplane after airplane lands, but, there is not system to get things anywhere.  I am NOT an expert on this.  But, if I were thinking that one day, for some reason, this capital city may be in ruins, whether by nature or uprising, My plans would account for that.  Secret military storage of on-site relief supplies away from the city.  With some of the equipment we have used in other wars and disasters to clear a way to get to the people.

And, at the same time, set up a triage or some sort of medical facility where it was all hidden and let those who can, come to you.  That is being touted as the best solution now, go to where you see lights at night - the airport.  Though, another two nights and the selfless helpers will be guarded against the very people they came to help.  It isn't about being a Haitian, it is about being a desperate mother, already totally empty of almost all emotions, doing the last things her legs and mind can handle to save her child or children, though, it appears at this early (that is such an odd word - it is early in the help getting there, but it is a lifetime we can not and dare not look at to these people on the other side of the airport fence) stage of relief that if will be a monumental task to get the goods to the hurting, the hungry, the thirsty .....

Then, we hear pompous and evil entertainers making jokes about these people and political points, or trying, and it helps no one; other than to try to make someone look evil and bad.   I can't judge them, but I sometimes feel like I want to hurt them in some way, I want them embarrassed or worse.  How did I get like this, it is not good for me.

Someone I am helping who is quite ill asked me to get his computer to one of these evil men's Web site.  As I did, I repeated, with no editorial, what he said.  My friend, going through hospice, with me there to help called me a liar.  Now, on all of the drugs he was on, one lets it slip buy, sort of.  I made sure that the sanctimonious, actually evil rantings were sent to his inbox.  Which, I will be opening for him in but a few hours.  He is not leaving this earth thinking that these clown entertainers have any goodwill in them, or none that they show.

One of them, on what I actually think is a decent talk show, for William Shatner - yes, Captain Kirk and more - won't let them side step questions.  He will spend the full 20 minutes getting the person to prove their odd knowledge that if you click the Red Cross link on the US White House Web site, the money won't get to the Red Cross,  but to that light-skinned President, who seems more concerned about Haiti because they are black.  He is focusing on helping black people because he is black.  He is also a lawyer, are they also being given extra attention?
And, in this odd interview, he discusses his hearing loss and implant.  Yes, it could be congenital, though it happened very early in his life.  It matches exactly - to point-by-point of Oxycontin heavy use at the drug abuse level.  Could be a coincidence, but would he give you that shadow of doubt?  What this man is afflicted with in his ear, is a trademark signal of Oxy abuse.

Put all of the above aside.  Collect some pocket change from your neigbors, get it up to $5:00 and send it in, it goes a long way.  And, take care of yourself, for when this many souls leave the Earth, I believe that many of us feel it in our souls, egos, or hearts.  Be kind to yourself as you help others.  We need you healthy also.
